According to a well known price tracker, the lowest price before was ~$11, and averaging around $15

5/8" is nice for checking concrete thickness and residential or light commercial anchors (5/8" screw/expansion bolts, 1/2" adhesive). 3/8" would be okay for light anchors, though 18" is pretty long unless you're trying to do something weird like go though brick veneer and CMU or concrete backup wall beyond.
