Walmart has the Series 5 Apple Watch for $299 (40mm) and $329 (44mm). Shipping is free and local order pickup is also an option where available. All three colors appear to be currently available in both sizes.

Plus even when the new one comes it'll be some time till the price drops from MSRP.
If anyone is in the market to buy, this is the sweet spot I think. 6 month old model with a decent discount; with a high chance of delay till the next model.
Personally, I'm still on the series 2. Tempted to upgrade but my watch has been running without any issues. Have used it daily with lot of cardio tracking in the gym. Still looks and works like it did on day 1. So no real reason to upgrade. Plus wife got furloughed. She'll make me choke on the Apple Watch if I bought one now 😆.

It's been September every year. Seems unlikely it would be sooner than that.

EDIT: The storage is also bigger but who really uses the Watch to store stuff? That is not very important for me.
