After all these years, is seagate drives finally become reliable?
According to Seagate's site, the Backup Plus is the better/newer model and its at the same price so that would be a better choice.

it will be fine..once the games loads you will see no difference from internal to external for most games

Is this drive different internally from the Backup Plus drives we often see on sale at Staples?

Backup Plus has a two year warranty. It was the same price earlier today too. My backup pus drive had two months of Adobe's photography plan which I already pay for included, and it credited my Adobe account the time when I registered.

A 2TB SSD would cost 6x as much. If all you need is local backup (I'm using a similar Seagate WITH an online remote backup service), this is fine.

Can this be used for built-in wireless syncing, or does it need to be connected to a router?

I guess I missed the part where it says it has wireless built in. It us USB 3.0 only. I guess if your router has USB ports for storage then it would technically be "wireless" and also a network drive at that point.
