clearly you don't have any experience with IKEA laminate counter tops. they are actually very high quality, and very affordable. $90 for the common length i need in my rentals
as mentioned, the only downside with them is that they do not come with a back edge

I got the 37x22 Contour recently and the matte finish is pretty disappointing. Poor workmanship on the overflow spout which is a separate piece sloppily siliconed on. May return.
the hampton bay laminate offerings in the store are really atrocious, as are lowes . while the price is tempting ,you are honestly better off just looking up a local kitchen and bath distributor in your area and you will find they actually have good quality in-stock laminate countertops
another alternative is IKEA
i've used both in rental properties, though i will mention that IKEA countertops do not have an integrated back edge profile, they are completely flat. you will need a wallpanel or tile backsplash to complete the look
+1 for the recommendation on the local kitchen and bath place. For one rental I went into their yard and found a remnant that was stunning and got a great deal on it. I got a lot of compliments. Don't be afraid to haggle. Don't overpay for cuts or undermount (I need to learn to do it myself).
I also had a separate local shop do a small kitchen. I've had big box stores do that kind of stuff (and garage doors and stuff) and it was super sloppy. Just go local for some things. It's less of a headache in the long run.

I work at a countertop fabrication company. Granted, I don't work in sales, but this doesn't seem like a very good deal. Look for a local kitchen & bath place, most places have bathroom vanities priced well because they end up with a lot of leftover material from custom kitchens that they'd prefer to sell at a discount.
