Purchased a month ago. Cuts well. Very light compared to the 10 year old toro I had. I don't know if that's good or bad. Rear wheel drive takes some getting used too. My toro had front wheel drive. Don't know how long it will last, but I'm happy with this mower.
Agree with the rear wheel drive vs front wheel (had a 2007 Toro model that just died), its very powerful and I'd almost say too powerful. Does not have variable speeds to it is either on or off. I found that unless I'm mowing a long straight line I leave the rear wheel drive off. The mower is light enough that manually pushing it around trees or turns isn't a problem.

This got this home and unpacked. Came with a bottle of oil, added gas and started on first pull. The self-propelled motor is fast.

Went ahead and ordered from Sams for 250+tax. Needed it now and couldn't wait for Costco to fill it up. Hopefully not much difference between Costco and sams version.

I'm suprized people still get the gas mowers. The electric ones are light years better these days.
LOL..good one. I had a battery Greenworks last year and took it back the same day I bought it..gutless and my grass was maybe 5-6" tall. I did buy a corded Sunjoe mower and it cuts much better than that battery mower. I have a large backyard and use two 50' cords in tandem and it's easy to do. When I had my rental house, I used my 15yo TroyBuilt gas burner and that mower just keeps going. I've probably changed the oil twice. Blades on gas burners are MUCH heavier and can handle twigs, branches much better. I still use the gas burner at my cabin and still running fine after all the years.

Check WM as mine was on sale.

I was thinking of returning Costco one and buy this but This doesn't have electric start. I didn't buy.
Go for costco deal. Electric start works great.

Exactly same experience with Greenworks 80v mower from Costco. It was absolutely shit.
The electric blower and trimmer are great though

Yeah thought I'd buy between this and the Costco one. Ended up with this one because I didn't care for the blower. Pull start is pretty easy, very little force needed to start. If the costco had this with electric start for around this price, I would have bought it. Also, I paid $45 for the sam's membership which I can return and get a full refund making this only 220 after tax, which is pretty decent.

I bought from Sam's club. I looked the blade underneath and it is very narrow compared to my previous similar capacity craftsman mower. Anyone noticed the same for the blade. Other thing is bag. I wish for larger bag and also position horizontal vs inclined up. Previous mower, Incline bag up fill the bag only halfway for my Bermuda grass and than clog the discharge hole. Any issue on bag position or size?

Had my first mow this past weekend, the bag filled up nicely up to atleast 75% (we have st Augstine here). Suction power was great vs my ryobi 40V.

My update. First use today.
Yes great suction power and bagging was just perfect and bag size is just right compared to many other which has very small or 25% smaller than this. However leaking grass and fly on you from top side. Must be sealed. Mulch / Cut was very good and liked it.
Bad things are
1. Rear wheel drive self is bad bad bad. If all weight is on rear end that is case most of the time then mower jump like crazy horse. Out of control. Many corners area where you pull mower back and forth is pain in ass and must let self propelled handle to go. But, if you have front wheel you can alway have front wheel drive engaged and pull mower back on rear wheel keeping front wheel up in air slightly. My yard has many trees and corners around and slopes as well. For straight yard without any trees it may be ok.
2. handle/lever for self propelled is far to reach by finges and very awkwardly designed. Dumb design and very bad unless someone customize/modify.

More update I will post next use. Bust mostly this is going back for me due to rear wheel drive which must need to be on/off all the time that I hate. Front wheel drive only.

Anyone has opinion on rear vs front drive?

What's Sam's return policy. Can you return it after you used the mower (with gas and oil in the engine)?

For folks who have already used this, what is the gas tank capacity? Also any sense on gas consumption per hour (ballpark)?

I just called and confirmed that you can return within 90 days but you have to take/empty out all the gas (and dry out 24 hours leaving gas cap open.). 2nd store says 30 days. You may want in person when in the store or by calling.

After using this a few times, the fixed rear wheel drive is something I find myself only using on straightaways. The mower is light (much lighter than my old 2007 Toro) and I'm finding that most of the time I'm not using the self propelled feature.

Would I love variable front wheel drive like Toro offers? Yep. But this was at least $100 less than other comparable models (size mainly) I looked at.

Everything has a compromise. Just know what you are purchasing and that you are OK with the features, some of which may be limitations or deal killers.
