This is not that great of a deal for a base model. The absolute version (with more attachments and the soft roller head) has been this low before, and multiple times at $250 (including straight from dyson.com with the extra 3 free attachments).

Costco has the V8 animal + for $299 on sale now. I got it a few months ago and love it. Plenty of power and the battery lasts long enough to do my entire 1500 sq ft 1st floor on one charge.

I just purchased a refurbished v10 absolute (with soft roller) from urlhasbeenblocked for about $60 more than this deal. More suction and soft roller makes it a deal for me.

I second this. Also got a refurbbed v10 absolute from Dyson via ebay. The machine was immaculate;even the dust bin was free of any debris and scratches showing prior use... Which I expected to not be the case as my last refurb was a bit used.

My last Dyson refurb was a v6 absolute, and it has been a useful companion to me for the past three years. Honestly, I never use the fluffy attachment... Even on floors. If you have issues with it cutting off power often, just clean the filter. That did it for me a few months back.

The one you have has a HEPA filter? What's the difference between that and bagless in ease?

I have 4 cats and can say I have used it to suck up tons of cat fur and litter and it does a great job of filtering the air. I have used other vacuums in the past that caused my allergies to flare up when using them but not this one. I recently used it to clean up after patching some drywall and it cleaned up all the drywall dust with no dust being expelled from the unit itself.

I have had my V6 for 2 years and no issues with the battery. I love mine. The only complaint would be that my canister is small and fills quickly. It also gets clogged when the kids try to vacuum the guinea pig hay off the floor. It has been my main vacuum; i barely use my full size Dyson anymore.

Can someone break down all the different cordless models for me please ? V7 thru V11 .. from absolute to animal to motorhead to whatever other .. what do they all do different? I have tile downstairs and carpet upstairs and one dog. Thanks in advance
