Any idea how soon we can upgrade to a new phone after activating service with your old device and still be eligible for the gift card?

I just checked my order status (4 SIMs). It showed a single SIM separately, and a group of 3 SIMs waiting to be ported. I used AT&T porting status web site to check and one of the numbers got ported OK, the other 3 have errors saying that the account numbers don't match what the previous carrier shows. I've sent a message to the seller asking him to recheck the account info of those 3 numbers.

My understanding - Usually port in happens once you get SIM card and try activating it.

I see few comments posted here stating they see order updates with their sim and port in status? How is that possible, they confirm porting before they ship the SIM cards? Or this is after folks got their SIM cards and trying to complete activation?

45 days is to receive the code. Then you need to redeem it to get it mail to your address. To me 90 days to be safe.

Opening the first line in-store and 3 more lines online (Share Plan is capped at 4 lines) increases out-of-pocket costs and reduces the profit (see attachment). I'll only do a deal if the profit will be equal to or more than the out-of-pocket costs.
Your chart sucks and is inaccurate unless you LIKE wasting money.

1) Go to store pay $20 open 1 line. (Maybe they waive sim charge since u cant activate online)
2) Go home, register account, add 4 more lines, Port 4 numbers ($25 ebay)
3) Cancel initial line when other lines complete.
Maintain service for 45 days, Round up to 2 months for cushion ($140 x 2 = $280 ~ $300 after tax)

Service doesn't need to remain active after you have received the redemption instructions so long as you maintained
service for at least 45 days.

OOP Cost: $345 + gas to go to ATT store
Money gained: $1000 + urlhasbeenblocked (Anywhere from $50-$200 depending on if you get all 4 lines credited)

Profit: $705-$855.

The lowest-cost Share Plan that I use only allows 4 lines. Can't add one at the store and 4 more online.

I always use worst-case scenarios (3 months of service vs 2; one cb per account vs per line, etc). If it turns out the GC is received in 2 months, or the cb sites give the cb per line, GREAT. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. Don't use my calculations if they suck. I can't plan for everyone's situations.

It depends on the carrier. With Sprint, you call in to port/activate after you've received the blank/unactivated SIMs. With T-mo, they shipped the SIMs preactivated with temp numbers; then you call to port in after you've received the SIMs. Based on a post by another member, AT&T ship the SIMs preactivated with the ported in numbers.

By looking at your first attached pic, it looks like port request confirmation is the key to get order processed.

It's part of getting the order processed. With my previous order and other people's orders, they were cancelled before any porting attempt.
