Sam's Club members get $25 off of a "non-discounted" price of $274.96 which is still cheaper than what this monitor is listed for on other sites.
Plus members get free shipping for online orders.
This is the new 2020 model of LG's 29" FHD Ultrawide monitor. It adds a few new features over last year's model and strikes a great middle-ground between budget and luxury with 75 Hz refresh rate, an IPS panel for easier extended viewing, HDR10, and some other nice-to-haves:
- OSD Crosshair
- Color Weakness Mode
- Screen Split 2.0
- Dual Controller
- Flicker-free technology
- Smart Energy Saving
- Dynamic Action Sync
- DDC/CI
- AMD FreeSync technology
- Super Resolution+
- Picture-in-Picture
- Black Stabilizer
- Reader Mode
Native resolution 2560x1080
Yes it's VESA 100x100.
Yes it has speakers.
This model isn't available in some online stores yet and is posted at $349 in a few other places, and out of stock.

The vertical height of a 29" ultrawide is the same as a 23" monitor. So think of this as a 23" FHD monitor with about 6" of additional width on the wide. This site gives good size comparisons between monitor dimensions: http://www.displaywars
This is pretty much standard price and specs for a 29" ultrawide, it's not really much of a deal. Yes, this is the newest "2020" model but it adds nothing spec wise compared to the 2019 model, or the 2018, or even to the 2016 model [lg.com] that I have. Same 75 HZ refresh, same 250 nits brightness, flicker-free, black stabilizer, etc. etc. In particular, don't be fooled by the "HDR10" spec. This just means that it won't show a blank screen when a HDR10 signal is sent to the monitor, but the monitor certainly won't show the video in full HDR10 quality due to the low 250 nit max brightness.
So it's a decent monitor, and I love the ultrawide aspect ratio, but this isn't much of a deal. It may seem like a deal if you are only shopping right now due to the shortage of monitors available, but if you don't need one in a hurry prices will certainly be better later.
