Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

NICE! Thank you. Seemed to work for me. I'll take a discount + double speed.

This is awesome. been hoping for something like this. if I clicked 'upgrade' next to my service it was $10/month more. But by going to the mix and match and clicking more speeds it was free. same price $39.99/month. my only concern is if it's contract free that they'll up the cost.

curious how long it is before it takes effect. I don't use their router. direct from the box on the wall to my router. do I need to reboot anything?

When I did it, it took a few days to reflect online.

FWIW, My Upgrade took about 3 minute both to show in the portal/dashboard AND I'm getting the new bandwidth immediately.

HA! I did a followup speedtest:

PING ms
9
DOWNLOAD Mbps
301.07
UPLOAD Mbps
341.25

Guess they need work on their policers... I'll take it.

Be a little cautious if you currently have a n/c modem. The upgrade may "require" you to pay $10 a month rental for the same modem.

To be honest - You are better off getting your own router anyway.

Just did the same upgrade over the weekend! Was quite surprised to see the same price for double the speed but decided to go for it. Hope the price is here to stay and not a temporary discount due to the situation we're all in.

Side note: when you only have Internet or Internet + Phone plan you can rewire your system (from ONT) from COAX to Ethernet by yourself and then contact the Verizon (chat works) to switch the system (again, from COAX to Ethernet). See more info here: (https://forums.verizon.com/t5/Fio...d-p/851632) - pay attention to the "Identifying Ethernet" part.

Does this plan have a data cap? Xfinity is 1tb per month. We get to that in about the 3rd week of the month, so I pay an extra $50 on top of the $70 plan for unlimited

I said on the previous thread a couple months ago, your actual speeds can actually be closer to 300mbps up/down. A steal for $40.

Couple of questions I had. Would appreciate the help.

1) I still have 8 months left on my 2 year contract. I can see the 200mb offer for 39.99. If I chose this, what would happen to the 8 months left? Would that immediately cancel out and I would go 39.99 a month no contract?

2) I have the G1100 modem/router and I'm pretty sure it's connected through coaxial. I have the 100mb plan and when I run speedtest.net it goes up to 110mb. Would I be capped at this speed even if I spring for the 200mb?

Did this since last year when I was just browsing it and found the plan with the higher speed. Good for Verizon to do this for us.
