Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

if you know how, i would QoS your router at 250 because a lot of that over provisioning is not stable and will only increase latency. by QoS'ing my 300/300 at 250/250 my second hop ping(latency) is 1 (in queens nyc) between my ONT and the local OLT.

Worked for me. Seeing 300/200 now. Was under a contract and seems to have voided that too? Neat!

I would encourage everyone to check AT&T fiber before signing up for this. We got $39.99 for 1000M in my region.

Question for you networking peeps. My house is pre-wired for coax throughout the house. Currently the ONT is in the garage, and my router is on the 3rd floor. I have 100/100 FIOS currently. If I want to upgrade to the 200/200 or higher speeds, do I need to rewire my entire home with ethernet?
No. The Verizon routers have Moca which allows ethernet over coax, but you need an adapter on both side which I assume you have already.

No. You just need a rj45 to your router. Hell, if your not is in your garage you could stick the router there too and have a one ft rj45
You only need ethernet from the ONT (the fiber entry point) to the router. From there you have three options. 1. Wireless (duh), 2. Ethernet (it has a switch), 3. Moca (ethernet over coax). Most people who have had Verizon use Moca for wired connections, you just need an adapter if you want hard wired on the other side. I have my entire house wired for Cat 6 tho Smilie.

Either you have Fios or ATT fiber, it depends upon where you live, so Fios is for folks in major metro in the northeast only. Its not like people normally have their choice of fiber providers silly.

so I signed up under this plan just about exactly a year ago.
$40 200/200 with auto pay.
a $15 discount is ending in 9 days, the 16th.

There is no option to continue at the $40 rate.

What is my best option here?
Cancel before the 16th and sign up under a different name?
I have my own g1100 router that I purchased on Ebay that is currently being used.
I want to get a 'new account' in order to get the free Disney plus. But I am sure a new account will require a tech to come out even thought they literally came to install it last year.
You can ping chat or call and see if they will make you a deal. They did with me. I scored gig, full cable, phone, disney+ and $100 GC for $92 a month all in (this also included a cablecard). If they dont, then cancel your account, and start one the next day (they normally turn on 6-7AM). It does not require a tech to visit, they can do it from the office. However if something goes wrong you are literally screwed because once you cancel an old account it is gone. So I would be wary to try this right now, no techs coming out in my neck of the woods.

This is a no-brainer great deal.

Sadly, my Ont is not located in the basement where I can't easily run Ethernet. There's coax that runs outside the house and then back in, through a convoluted path, and that's probably how it's gonna stay. So...not for me. (Placing the wireless router in the basement won't work, as the thick old construction kills the signal).

I'm getting 300/300 for the same price. Also, an extra $10 discount by using my own router and $5 additional discount by linking my wife's cell phone (but still two separate bills and names). I'm paying $29.99 monthly.

Doesn't seem to be an option for me. I have $39.99 for 100/100 now. In PA just outside Philly. Anyone else seeing a $10 upgrade fee for it?

I have more quality extenders and routers than you can throw a stick at. But running from a main router in the basement is craptastic in this house. I know, I've tried multiple times.

Did you try the wited extenders? The one that works through your electric outlets?

ok so my promo was about to end on the 16th of this month.

It was going to go up $15 dollars because some discount was expiring since this 16th will be a year since I had the $40 200/200 plan.

I also have my own router to avoid the rental $12 fee

So I found the 'order now' section and it shows it will start the $40 promo again

thanks! this was able to make me not cancel the account and then sign up again.
I won't be able to get the Disney plus but I'll manage.

pics included
