Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

I don't think it's for life.

It's

$137.99 for gigabit
- $80 discounts (expire in 2 years)
- $10 autopay.

---------------------
$47.99

I'm just going to downgrade to 200 and save the $7.99/mo. I don't even use all the speed from gigabit

Extra $8 per month is so worth the speed. Try saving that else where and not on the internet. ATT gave us 1000mbps for the same price of 300 and would not be able to go back to that speed

It sounds like you really are contract-free now and may be subject to the early termination fee. The rep I spoke with said that if you do get the fee, it'll show up in your next billing cycle. It's pro-rated - the fee would be $15-35 for every month you have left.

Still might not be too bad to eat a one-time fee to get off contract if your previous plan relied on having heavy discounts.
I chatted with rep this morning and they said I should not see any etf..she still see that I have that price for5 months..I suppose have to wait and see what happens

Of course you won't be charged the ETF as long as you don't cancel your service within 5 months

I logged into my fios account and did the mix & match order for the 200/200 free upgrade. Verizon called me to confirm the order and told me the installation/technician team would contact me to schedule an on-site install, which I thought was weird. I asked Verizon if the 200/200 upgrade can be done remotely via equipment/ONT configuration/modification from 100/100 to the 200/200 speed. Verizon said no and that the upgrade may possibly require installation of a new ONT at my house. Did anybody else have a similar experience?

Check your ONT... You probably have an old type and they want to update you to the new one (most likely Alcatel I-211M-L).

Dang. I'm paying $109/mo for gigabit service with my 2 year deal expiring in 14 days. 2 years ago, that was a decent price for that speed. If I go online, it only offers me an extension at the same rate. I guess I'll have to call them prepared to raise hell if they don't drastically reduce my bill.

I currently have the 50/50 mbps plan but they've upgraded my speed to 100/100 even though my plan is 50/50. The pricing is as follows:
Fios Internet 50/50
$87.99 price - $35.00 discount
$35 total discount: $5 expires 2/3/21 and $30 has no current expiration.

When I click on the mix&match, it offers me 200/200 for $49.99 which is still cheaper than what I'm paying and faster then what I get. My only hesitation is the $30 discount I currently get has no expiration and if this deal expires in a year, not sure I could get another $30 discount with no expiration. I'm in Maryland. Any thoughts?
I'll have to check my dads set up - he's on the Verizon 50/50 (now 100 I think, upgraded like you) but he has an older Router and coax - which sounds like it won't work with this upgrade, wish it would his Roku won't stop buffering using the 1080 setting - had to downgrade that to 720 so it wasn't constantly buffering...

About 30 minutes after I processed the order for 200/200, I ran a speedtest that resulted in 300/300. Today the speedtest(s) gives out the same 100/100 that I had before.

anybody else?

I just put in my order. My old price was $40/mo for 100/100. New price is $35/mo for 200/200. The -$5 discount reads "Connections Discount - Data". I'm not sure what that is but others may get it too, making this deal even better for those on the fence.

Bad news is that my router is connected to my ONT through a coaxial wire and the first appointment for a technician to come over in the greater D.C. area is... December 1st.
Same here with December 1 but in RI, figured it must be a mistake and they will call to schedule something. Idk. Will see. Will cancel if I have to rent a new router. I have one of thier old n routers that were on sale $8 but just use that as a bridge to my other router.

Thanks for this! Totally worked for me. When I looked at the regular upgrade path, it wanted to charge me a ton more. But with your method, it totally worked. Also, I'd previously been getting between 85-100 download speeds and around 110 uploads in speed tests. Within minutes, the speed had upgraded in tests to around 280-300 download speeds and 250-ish upload speeds!

And my Verizon account page is already showing the 200 meg speed.
