Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

I am not exactly sure, but you might be right that they removed disney plus when the new billing cycle started.

Did you lose it when the next billing period started?

Has there been anyone who has been able to keep their Disney plus beyond the current billing period? Thanks.

I've made change from 100/100 to 200/200 at 6pm today. Checked speed after half hour, no change. Then received email said my plan had changed, $10 autopay discount was removed and I chatted with a rep to confirm if I get discount or not. He said he had to add it back. I've also asked if I have Disney+ or not. He said I have it. Not sure if what he said is true or not but when I checked my plan, I don't see it as an option.

Oh well, if i lose disney+ but gain higher speed, fine by me, as long as they don't screw me by change the price next month.
Just curious if your 200/200 speed is fully activated now and if so, how long approximately did it take Verizon to provision that change (and confirmed on your end)? I just did the change from 100/100 to 200/200 also (after alot of hassle of converting to Ethernet and talking to social media Verizon support several times), but still having doubts that my speed was upgraded despite my Verizon account officially saying that I have a 200/200Mbps plan. I ran multiple speed tests on a 5Ghz WiFi SSID using the Verizon FIOS official speed test and the fastest I got was 123/136 when being next to the WiFi router. Curious if you're getting similar speeds or higher after a few days of committing to the change?

Thanks!

Have you tried speedtesting via an ethernet connection instead of wifi? I believe that's the metric not wireless speed.

Correct... You must jack in and test your wired speed. that is what the tech would do if he came out. Also, use Verizon's speed test tool.

Thanks guys for the pro tip! I did what you suggested and can confirm I get over 200 down when using a wired ethernet connection and Verizon's speed test tool.

sorry for delayed reply.

I didn't actively check for speed after I've upgraded. I did couple of test couple of hours after upgrade, speed was higher than 150's.

This morning after I saw your message, I did a test. Sitting in different floor using iPhone, speed test showed close to 200up /50 down on 5 Ghz. But if i move to about 10 feet of my router on same floor (open space), speed was close to 300/300. I have asus RT68u (t-mo converted one).

maybe power cycle router and see if it helps?

so I signed up under this plan just about exactly a year ago.
$40 200/200 with auto pay.
a $15 discount is ending in 9 days, the 16th.

There is no option to continue at the $40 rate.

What is my best option here?
Cancel before the 16th and sign up under a different name?
I have my own g1100 router that I purchased on Ebay that is currently being used.
I want to get a 'new account' in order to get the free Disney plus. But I am sure a new account will require a tech to come out even thought they literally came to install it last year.
Mine went up yesterday and I chatted with a sales rep for around 5 minutes and they gave it to me again at $39.99. Saved $15.00 for another year at least. I was pleasantly surprised by that and how quick the customer service was there to help me. I've always had a bad experience with FIOS especially with upgrades. Maybe we can thank Covid-19 for something Smilie

I know this was probably asked already, but what do I need to make sure in my apt in order to use my own router and not rent Verizon's for $15? I am moving into a new apt and I don't know what I need to check. I have Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3000 router. Thanks in advance!

Just did this. I was a 100/100 no commitment customer for about 5 months now, I do rent the 3100 VZ router. Found the link to upgrade, placed order, and about 10 minutes later, I reset my router and get 170/170(on wifi). Right before I upgraded I was getting 90/90-ish. My account still lists my plan as 100/100, and still says "check status of order" Not sure i'll really notice the speed difference, but with 3 kids in the house and multiple devices, any extra speed at the same cost can't hurt. Not sure about disney+ yet. thanks!

Can't get Fios OR AT&T Fiber where I live... it's sad that I have to consider moving just to get better Internet service.

My service seems to be much worse after doing this upgrade. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I had the similar issue. Used to be 50~100 down and 100 up. But now only 10~20 down and 30 up.

I tested from the wifi using speedtest.net but did not expect it to be worse.

Maybe rebooting the ONT and router first to see?

Is this true even if your 1OO Mbps cost is $69.99 a month

Thanks to the many posts in here. I've been a LONG time FiOS customer currently in the tail end of my latest triple play (75/75) contract and didn't want to do a credit pull so I called to see what they would do for me. The answer was not much, but the instructions to get me set up for ONT based service were invaluable.

I was able to drop TV and switch to 200/200 for $50/mo month-to-month, with no termination fee and the service is speed testing consistently at 300/300. May not be the great deal that everyone else is getting but an extra $10/mo for 300/300 is fine with me, plus I'm saving a bundle by dropping my triple play bundle.
