The Hitachi/Metabo is good little router. It's not quite on par as far as a Dewalt DW618 or Bosch 1617 but it is close. The motor and VS work pretty much the same but the quality of the fixed and plunge bases aren't quite as good. $90 is a good price for the package that just includes the router and fixed base. This package with the fixed and plunge base usually goes on sale for around $129 so @ $89 it represent a pretty solid deal.

I own the Hitachi branded version of this router. I have been extremely satisfied with it. Love the soft start and very smooth speed control, plenty of power, plus the longer than average power cord. My Hitachi included the fixed base, plunge base, template guide kit, 1/4" and 1/2" collets with wrenches, and a hard carrying case.

Cons: I don't love the power switch location, but with the soft start it's not intolerable.

If this was available at this price in my area I would definitely pick up another for permanent mounting in my router table. 👍🏻

What router table are you using? you diy'd one table or you took any table thats available ready in the market.

Interesting. I was able to check out no problem. The store had a few in stock to hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.
