that's exactly what "white hat" means. they're hacker professionals but with ethical intentions and aims to improve security instead of exploit.

White or black hat is a marketing gimmick. Don't be silly. It should hopefully teach you in-depth about whatever IT areas it covers.

The difference between a white hat and a black hat is permission. Black hat does not have permission to get into a system but white hat does in order to find out what the security holes are. as far as knowledge base, they are both the same.
