Newegg has 1-Year Quicken Deluxe 2020 Personal Finance Software Subscription (PC/Mac Digital Download) on sale for $24.99 after promo code 52PTYHC5. Thanks DJ3xclusive
I have been beating my head against a wall with this issue. My problem is not necessarily the money, although I hate paying a "subscription" for Quicken. My issue is that Quicken constantly has problems with downloads from certain banks or credit cards (sadly I have many) and it's just become a pain and a mess. Also, I find Quicken just a poor piece of software in general, so I don't understand how others can "love" it. It runs slow and is glitchy. The layout and functionality could also be better designed.
Mint.com and Personal Finance.com both look promising, but they also have similar issues with downloads and they have other drawbacks. I do, however, like their online based setup (I know some won't). Sadly, there's no great alternative that's free and i'm hesitant to spend both the time and money to keep trying the other alternatives out there. I haven't decided if I'll stick with an online system (likely Mint) or Quicken. If anyone has comments on this I would love to hear it.
Here are the steps:
1. Install TurboTax (if uninstalled already)
2. Launch the program (and allow or bypass all updates), and from the menu, select Special Offer (I forgot the exact menu item, but it should be obvious)
3. You will now complete the redemption of the special offer on Quicken.com (step 2 should launch a new browser) by creating or logging into existing account - the check out should show $0 for one year of Starter
4. Download the latest Quicken from Quicken.com
5. Purchase Quicken Deluxe
6. Redeem the newly acquired Deluxe key in the Quicken program by going to Help -> Enter Activation Code (12th item of Help)
7. You should see the Deluxe license expiration date in late Jan. 2022 (instead of May 2021 with one year of Deluxe)
HTH
If you are looking to purchase one and you have used TurboTax 2019 (I used the Windows version), utilize the one free year of Quicken Starter offer. By combining both (I signed up for Starter first, then purchased one year of Deluxe), you will get ~20 months of Deluxe (12 months for the listed offer here + about 8 months, the conversion of 1 year Starter license to Deluxe). Paying $25 - $30 (before tax) for 20 months makes much better sense than paying $50 (regular price) for one year of Deluxe.

Ha! Since my 2017 online downloads expired as of April 30th, Quicken has been spamming me with offers of 25%, 35% and latest 40% off to move to the current version. This is best offer so far, which is 50% off. Do I hear 60% Quicken? I would give that serious consideration.

How do I get the starter version plus any steps to ensure that we get 20 Mos out of it. Repped
