I wouldn't, these are SMR or "shingled."

No true...just order a 4tb desktop hard drive and it had bubble wrap.
Ordered this exact 5TB portable external drive a month or so back, with store pickup option. Picked up at the store, it was shipped FedEx to the store and had NOTHING protecting the retail box inside. Needless to say I returned it immediately. Maybe you'll get someone with braincells at the fulfillment warehouse who actually knows to package things right.... But hey, it's your data.
As mentioned above, they are 15mm tall monsters. I don't know of any 3TB+ 2.5" drives that aren't above 12mm. So these are both shingled and multi-platter, for those that it may concern. I use these with various Raspberry Pi projects like a simple single drive NAS, etc. I do shuck the enclosures for better ones when I can, the top of these is metal, but the bottom and 3 sides are plastic. Though finding inexpensive enclosures for 15mm drives is hard.
I have 2 of the 2TB drives and they cannot be connected at the same time. I've tried diff settings, drivers, even bought a new power supply and case...my external WD drives work great! maybe it's something else, but i will be avoiding the USB style from now on...
