For full disclosure, I use a Husqvarna edger to do the outside perimeter for that straight edge look. For the weed eating, though, this unit does a great job. I've been able to weed eat around my entire yard (lots of flower beds with edging) and been able to use just the 4.0 battery and still have enough juice to use the blower to clear off the concrete pathways and driveway.
I have a gas powered Hitachi blower, and I can tell you that this blower doesn't push nearly as many CFM as the Hitachi. That said, I prefer this one simply due to the simplicity of snapping a battery in and getting things blown off. I've seen someone in a forum before suggest you can get a diverter for the end of the blower that will focus the power and makes it more impactful. I haven't felt a need for that yet. Blows dry leaves just fine, as well as grass clippings from the street/driveway.
TL;DR - this is a great deal on a very useful set of lawn tools. If you have a particularly large yard, you might buy a second battery, but I haven't felt a need for it thus far, and while my yard isn't huge, it's not small, either, as it's a corner lot.

One thing about this and all weed whackers...the frickin replacement spools are a rip off. I finally bought trimmer line refill but haven't figured out how to wind it yet. My son's money making capabilities are on hold until I get the spool refilled!
The problem with this particular trimmer is the head cannot be replaced, so you can't swap for a head with easier string replacement (bump heads suck) or with blades. I'm still waiting for a deal on one of the few Kobalt trimmers that come with a replaceable head.
