Monoprice has multiple tv wall mounts are the same price and size. Why is this one a good deal? Does it have features the other wall mounts don't have?

For a 55" TV, is there any advantage to using a larger mount, like one that fits TV's up to 65" or 70"?

Actually, I have metal studs and am installing near a corner. This wall plate is only 17.7" wide so if you put it across two studs (16" apart) you don't have any choice in actual placement of the wall plate.

The wall plate on this 37-70" unit [monoprice.com] is 33.8" wide, so you have a lot more wiggle room in making sure it covers two studs.. or actually, it's probably designed to span three studs but should still work well with two.

I still don't understand why they reference TV size on wall mounts; it means nothing at all.

Agree, I have a cheap $10 amazon single stud 42", 60lbs rated max in my garage. For the hell of it, I put up my damaged 65" 40lbs tv, a little scary at first but its holding up just fine.

It's easy (lazy) marketing and gives you a rough idea of the size TV it can handle.

On the minimum size, you certainly wouldn't want to put a 32" TV on a mount with a 40" wide wall plate.

I assume the numbers that matter most, however, are the VESA size range and the maximum weight.

This one is HDMI 2.1 comparable and future proof as it'll accept 8K TVs.

*There's not much of a difference between them but this one seems to be very basic.
Others have quick releases.
