Any idea if they are on the fda approved list? Are these any good at all?
The answer appears to be "no." Some masks tested filtered out as little 35% of particulates. We also have no way of knowing if they are counterfeit. Still, they are better than nothing. Here is the FDA list of approved masks:

I'm not sure how many of the various Chinese 95s you guys have messed around with but the big problem I have found is not the fabric, it's the fit. Some of them have just terrible nose pieces. Others are actually pretty good. The shape of your face also matters. It is a little bit of a crapshoot with these to see if you get a batch that fits well
the paper n95s that do fit well you're not going to be able to get your hands on till at least June or July when 3m gets caught up. there was a large order of silicone 7502s that went to retail this past week. Those have an excellent fit but you have to find some filters. 2097 or 2297 are commonly used. if you guys want a real protective piece of equipment look for one of these. also note 7502 is the medium of that mask type which fits the majority of people. small and large sizes are made but I haven't seen any available for order in the past couple weeks at any of the major suppliers

For most healthy people a regular cloth mask is fine as the goal is only to reduce the amount of the viral load that you might exhale or inhale from someone else.
If everyone is wearing something even if that something is a cloth mask then instead of the viral load traveling dozens of feet away from you it will be slowed down and only travel a few feet at most.
Also it should be pointed out that by now millions of healthy people have already been exposed to the virus and had no idea that they even had it because their symptoms were so mild that it was treated as nothing more than a common cold or allergies.
