Beware-- buying through Google Shopping charges you tax, even though HH Gregg's stated policy is to NOT charge tax outside of NJ. Google's suggested "fix" for the issue? send back the laptop and order directly through HH Gregg. Really, really poor.
Nope, the 16" model uses the new Magic Keyboard! 🙂

this one or the i7 model for $323 cheaper? I feel the only substantial difference here is the 1tb hard drive. 5300m and 5500m almost the same. i9 is faster than i7, but will it run hotter and battery run time shorter?

Dang, seems like a very good deal. I am not quite ready to pull the trigger though, hopefully there will be a similar or better deal in a month or so. Do these high end MacBook Pros tend to get decent discounts around summer time?

Actually the 1TB is nice, but I've been watching a lot of reviews and the i9 and 5500m are actually pretty nice upgrades, especially the 5500m. Those will be a lot more important for your actual experience imo. Space is always something you can supplement with a credit card-sized external SSD if you really don't think it's enough.

yeah I think? Unfortunately they don't have 32GB version, which is what I want. So I went with adorama deals.

Nice. 32gb certainly future proof your laptop for at least 5 year or more. In the long run, it's worth the money.

yeah, I personally don't need a lot storage on the go, so don't see a lot values in 1TB SSD for my use case.
