Carbon fiber model does not include a head, but a ball head is available as a freebie.

Hmmm I need a new tripod to replace my old Proline. These look interesting. Seem like the same price at Amazon? But these include a free gift?

Not anything with a pan head, that type is horrendous for still photography.

Anyone know of a good tripod (preferably carbon fiber) that is at least 60 inches when extended and also collapses small?

This is the one I'm currently looking at but would prefer one that could collapse even more. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...CXAN&psc=1

Here's one. Smaller than both I think. Good brand, comes with ball head

Try looking up Q-666C. It seems like it's the model number for a Chinese carbon fiber tripod with any number of companies putting their logo on it. I got one on ebay last year and have been pretty happy with it, certainly for a low cost and lightweight tripod. They're also available on Aliexpress, if you want to try that route.

Keep in mind you are looking at about an 11 lbs load capacity on the carbon fiber. And around 8 lbs on the aluminum.

What is nice about the OP pod is that it is quick lever release, and NOT twist. Who has time to twist each section? BEsides, with gloves it is a pain, and same with fine powder sand. I rule out tripods with that as a criteria first, even before Alum vs Carbon Fiber.

The 290 is a very goot tripod, but I dont want to get a pan head and pay for it, when I would toss it out.
Vanguard makes some great gear as well(great bags), and they have a lifetime warranty.
