Osprey is a true outdoor brand that stands behind their products by offering a lifetime warranty and will will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge. If they can't fix, they will replace it.

Eddie Bauer does not offer this. They used to have a lifetime warranty on their items but that went away the past few years. I think they over-extended the brand over the past 15 years and are probably not doing too well financially. Doubt they will be around much longer...

I have this and the Eddie Bauer one. Eddie is bigger and weighs a bit more. This one feels slicker and lighter. Eddie has some extra pockets and is cheaper. If space is main concern I'd get osprey. If it's not, I'd get Eddie

Nice price, but looks like it was slightly cheaper a few months ago, I think I will wait.

How does this compare to SD's favorite Eddie Bauer one?

I'd also add the EB one has at least two additional zipper pockets on the front--one where you'd actually stuff the bag in and a perpendicular one right below. Its convenient to toss EDC things if your mesh side pockets are already in use for easy access but it probably is the reason why it's heavier than the osprey. I don't have this particular osprety pack but I'm sure it's a fine bag and their warranty is great (I have a few of their backpacks).

I mean it wasn't a bad question considering the EB one is slightly cheaper right now. I like the EB one because it has more organization. I gave up on packable bags overall, since they never really hold their structure well.

Here's one for $12.60 and yes, it's not Osprey quality. LOL
