Personally I think if people can hold off until prime day or black Friday, we will see the best PC deals ever. I think there will be an oversupply soon. Can already see it starting. Seems like we have a few monitor deals every day now.

75Hz. Barely good enough to run a PowerPoint presentation
This isn't accurate. Powerpoint presentations are just fine on 60hz monitors and have been fine for years.
It's not a gaming monitor, but 75hz is better than what was standard (60hz) for a long time. More than enough for an office monitor. I would care more about resolution than refresh rate when looking for a productivity monitor.
For an office monitor, it's not bad. I went with the Monoprice 35" ultrawide, it's 100HZ and 3440x1440. Was on sale for 359.99 a while back. I do some light gaming, and mostly IT work.

More like the opposite. People are spending more than ever on home based entertainment than ever.

Exactly! Who in their right mind buys a 120Hz monitor for PowerPoint lol. Now for FPS gaming with PC, heck yeah.
The sales presentations with high FPS blow the competition away. It makes a difference in a sea of boring presentations.
A lag free and jutterless highly responsive screen is essential for the PowerPoint ninja. You can totally game on a 60hz screen anyways. Maybe not highly competitive FPS but there are like 8 other categories of games... I vastly prefer my 40" 4k 60hz screen for RTS and survival games to my 34" UW 144hz Freesync monitor
do all you people in this slickdeals site have sick gaming pcs with at least a 2080 super?
I just ran assassin's creed odyssey on ultra on a 1080p 144hz monitor and i only get up to 60fps on my 1080gtx with amd 1700 cpu. chance are u probably wont get more than 75fps for modern 2020 titles if u r running at full UWQHD resolution.
