I paid an extra $30 or so for the 3 year additional warranty they offer through Squaretrade in store. Last time I purchased a set (different brand) I had the speakers go out on our set, and they just cut us a check for the whole purchase price. Then I just hooked up some car speakers and kept using my virtually 'free' TV set, with nicer speakers.

why you do this?
It's hard dialing in the right settings with so much remote broadcasting. Still a work in progress, it took me awhile to get my TCLs dialed in. I still miss my TCL 4 and now I have to learn the remotes over, Hisense remote controls R6 while the TCL controls both TVs.
