These speakers typically sell for $450 on sale. This is a very low price from an authorized dealer.

Been keeping an eye on outdoor speakers. Would really like some nice ones that'll last, but damn, these are spendy. Anyone have any experience with them? Comparisons to the Polk atrium 6 or 8s?

So silly question maybe. But if I don't have receiver, how do I make them airplay compatible?

AW650 are probably most closely related to the Polk Atrium 8s. They're both a good choice. Something to keep in mind is, Atrium 8's are sold as single speakers whereas Klipsch AW650 are sold as pairs.

You're going to need an amplifier to power them. I'm sure you can google how to make a passive speaker airplay compatible.

Had a pair of these Klipsch and pair of the polk Atrium 8s. I made a amazon review on polk but never got around to doing the klipsch. Side by side the klipsch is huge even though they both use 6.5 woofer. Polk had great highs due to the dual tweeters but the woofer was lacking. Polk woofers are a bit tighter due to the small encloser but seems to distort when I crank up the volume and low end on the EQ. The klipsch on the other hand handles bass like no other. I can crank up the low end on theres little distortion. The highs seem kind of flat. Made some adjustments but still not close to the polks. Down the road I will probably open it up and replace the tweeters with some Polk db tweeters I have laying around. Doesn't matter if you're into bass/mid heavy music. Since this is a outdoor speaker the further you are away from the speakers the first thing u lose is low end then mids. At 30-40ft the Polk start to lose low end quick. With the kilpsch I can get 70-80ft and still have good bass/mids. The amp I'm running is a Cambridge Audio topaz sr20.

I have a pair of $40 outdoor speakers that I bought 3 sets of from home Depot.

They've been outdoors for about 4 yrs and working great

What a worthless comment.

not really a great deal. These go on sale for $299 all the time from different sellers. I had these and they are massive. The sound is excellent on these and I would recommend

I've had these outside for a couple years now and every time I use them I remember how great they sound. Definitely up there for best bang for the buck outdoor speakers. I got a tiny class D amp from Monoprice that pairs with them really well, music source from echo dot 3.5mm jack.

Just got these last week. They are great. They are bigger than you would think so take measurements to make sure they'll fit. Also for Klipsch speakers make sure you are purchasing from an authorized dealer.

Thanks, passive speaker is the keyword I didn't know.
