I sold one of the tickets yesterday, but I'm a tad concerned about the transaction.
The buyer was persistant about the sale and I caught on that he called me at work leaving voicemail and my house several times. Going back over my notes, I see he called with more than one name and could not keep his story straight. Things like changing the name of the city he was from, where he went to school, and so on. I got $50 in cash and the rest by paypal, and I hope there are no other issues. Where I thought I had three people wanting to buy the tickets, it turns out that I only had one. Here's to hoping the other ticket sells.
Back to work. I'm so happy for those of you that have jobs that you love and a reduced concern about stability on the job front. Wishing everyone employed to keep their income flowing and those looking to find good work to find it. I wish things were better, but I come in every day trying to do the best I can that day and striving to make it through the day. There are ups and downs in everything in life, including work, and the best we can hope for is to ride them out with grace and style. That's the thing about having to work really hard to reach a summit, you often times get to enjoy the ride down with some excitement.
I have a challenge ahead of me it seems. My 91 year old uncle and my 85 year old father are not speaking over a phone call where politics became too heated. I'm caught in the middle between the two, especially after a call from my uncle about it that made me rather uncomfortable. I tried to patch it up, and I tried to encourage that some topics like politics and religion are good topics to avoid. I don't think my Uncle has it in him anymore and from what his talking points to me were I think he's getting talking points from one news source only. I know my Dad at least has several news sources and facts behind much of his positions, but to be honest the real issues and answers usually lie somewhere in the middle between the two political parties and we would all be better off if our politicians would compromise. Anyway - I have some work ahead of me but I have told them both that a lifetime of family is nothing to throw away over political beliefs and they should continue to keep in touch but stick to other topics when they speak. I know my Aunt kept agreeing with me. Perhaps between Mom, my aunt, and I we can get these two speaking again.
