Anyone looking for a good starter 2.0 stereo system for music, I recommend the Allo Volt Double amp for about the same price. I recently switched to one from the equivalent 2.0 Onkyo receiver and the sound quality improvement was dramatic to the point where you wouldn't want to spend the money on this for pure music purposes
PSA Audiophiles please do not post your comments. We all know this is Walmart quality. Thank you. lol
Same price at Wal-Mart with free shipping for those who don't want to deal with Newegg.

Thanks and good price.

Anyone know if the unit can power on with a switched outlet? Or does it require a button press on the unit itself to turn on?

Is this compatible with chromecast? I recently upgraded my speakers so id like to use the old speakers with a receiver for music.

I've been using the Allo for a few months too. From my PC to a balanced switch which is connected to a couple dacs, couple headphone amps and the Allo double. I run the RCA outs from my switch to a minidsp hd which is connected to a supercube 2000 subwoofer and to the Allo so I can set my crossovers. I agree, that the Allo volt double outpunches it's class. I've got Dali spektor 1 bookshelf speakers which aren't the most sensitive at 83 and the Allo has no issues pushing them without distortion of any kind. But for those who want a simple setup, the volt double and a decent sub $100 dac alone would bury the SX-10AE in fidelity and is worth the extra $100.

What stands out for this one among it's competitors?

BBY has a bunch stereo receivers in this 100-150 price range all the time, from brands like Yamaha, Sony, Insignia, and also this Pioneer one.

(I'm looking for one to use with a pair of 6 ohm bookshelf speakers for my PC)
