10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

I called the 800 number on my bill and asked the IVR for loyalty department. I was on hold for maybe 2 minutes before a friendly agent picked up. When I asked if I could lower my internet pricing she said absolutely. There was a short pitch to bundle with AT&T TV, but I declined. Saved $50 month on my bill, since I was out of contract and it took maybe 6 minutes total. FWIW, I haven't had to pay any device charges in the past and don't see them on the confirmation email. We'll see on the next bill though. This was in Michigan, so YMMV. Good stuff OP!

Follow the link just now and the AT&T page showed super fast internet 1 GIG at $39.99 for 12 Mo. for existing customer...

And it's even sweet that since it's not available in my area, they offer 1/20 of the speed at 50Mbps for the SAME price of $39.99 too. Best deal of the day!!!

and I tested on wire when installed it went up to 700-800mbps, now it's only limited by wifi where I can only get 200-300mbps in most household wifi devices.

Now this deal becomes $50/mn, hardly a deal to me.

My experience was amazingly good at the beginning, 1gb internet speed was morbid, that was 1 year ago and I was paying 90 dollars a month. After the year ended I had to pay 120, tried to go down to the 300mb plan and everything went to hell. It was still surely super fast, but I was losing signal from modem and WiFi every 5 minutes, intermittent connection can make you insane in a matter of hours. Contacted customer support several times, they changed my modem configuration at least 5 times, I received two new modems in the next two months, nothing worked, so I ended up my history with them, switched to spectrum paying 20 dollars a month for a basic plan I think it's about 30mbs and I am happy with it. That's my story, from Charleston SC.

So as a longtime gigapower customer the box that they give you is a gigantic pain in the ass and doesn't work well with just about anything you would want to do with your home network. Be forewarned.

Also it's at&t so forget about support. They suck. As a matter of fact I have reached out to them multiple times and the only thing they will support is direct connections to that box.

Also don't buy their "air ties" extenders. Those are also useless.

You do have too, but there is a trick called "dumb switch bypass" you can do. Just use a UPS on it so you don't loose power.

I had 300MB plan but with a gigabit router provided by att (if y recently replaced a faulty router, they shud have put a gigabit router). Couple of days back my service was auto upgraded to 1000MB with no additional cost and I was able to subscribe to hbomax. Paying $50 a month and no router charges. See if router replacement helps. It did in my case

All the text seems to indicate 12 months. Prices do go up after 12 months
