10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

I have been corrected a billion times in this thread, but ultimately what I said is still valid. The ONT is NOT charged. You are charged for the Modem/Router Box which is their Access Gateway. There is no way around this. Even if you procure your own gateway box from Ebay or what-not, it won't be set for you and they know it would be stolen.

You will need to pay that $10 no matter what.

Currently on the 300mbps for $50/month deal but my deal/contract expires in 10 days. Initially they weren't going to honor the 1000 since it is for new customers, but I said I was going to check on Spectrum deals and then they transferred me to Customer Loyalty and they honored it. Sweet!

FYI at least for my area (CA), there is no data cap for gigabit plans. This is what sold me.

Even after the promo year, this plan (I think $80/mo) works out to be vastly better than my old Xfinity plan: 175Mbps ($60/mo + $30/mo unlimited data cap = $90/mo) Xfinity's gigabit still had the 1.2TB data cap, which is ridiculous.

Screw it.. Just signed up. Credit check and all. Don't care.

It's the 15th on the month, i looked at my usage with Infinity and i was already over 1tb of the 1.2tb. At the rate we are using data with working from home , etc. it was a nobrainer. Enough was enough.

They'll also charge you another $10 for their modem/router. You cannot use your own modem or router. I worked in their CyberSecurity engineering for just under a year. Resigned in January 2020. What an obnoxious company. Their stock is yielding 6.94% as of now for a reason.

Search AT&T and FTC. Never mind, I did it for you. Nothing but overcharging and the sending people to collection agencies after overcharging long after the consumer closed the account. An elderly friend of mine got prescribed anxiety medication after months of fighting charges daily that were imposed after closing her account. It ended up consuming most of her waking hours. If you want headaches and overcharges, AT&T is the company for you!

I'm moving to a new house in a month and ATT fiber is available......I'm so stoked. Currently in an area where Comcast has a monopoly and even if you get their 1gig, they limit your upload to like 35 mbps.

Signed up for this today. I am in Gastonia NC. I'm quite surprised fiber was available here. No reason to pass this up coz was paying the same price for spectrum and speed never got above 50. Installation was a breeze, took around 2 hrs. Will also be getting $200 card. sos a really good deal if your area has this. I have around 950 down/up speed now!!

hey guys has anybody been able to get out of the $10/month rental for equipment? I have my own modem/router I bought a few years ago. Also does anybody know if we sign up for the 12 months but we only need it for 9 months, can we cancel and still keep the GC's?
