10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

My one year is up in a month. Here in Austin TX it looks like Spectrum is running a special with 400 mbps for 29.99 a month locked in for 2 years with no data caps or fees. No gig speed or HBO Max, but at half the price of AT&T.

What? No way. I don't see anything wrong with my lines.I was wondering about upgrading to the BG320-500. Should we just and call about that?

I'm aiming towards the $20 off discount or better, and if they would waive the stupid equipment fee.
The only difference I see from my old modem to my new one is that my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S21+), which I guess has the latest Wi-Fi protocol, has a "6" in the Wi-Fi icon, which previously wasn't there. My speed test on Wi-Fi (from my phone) went from 521 up/518 down to 732 up/540 down. Over the wire (Ethernet cable), the speed was unaffected. My total power reduction according to my smart plug was reduced by 4W since there's no longer an external box that needs to be powered. That freed up an outlet in my UPS. I think you should be OK with the older BGW210 modem. But it was nice that they offered me the free upgrade when I didn't even really request it, but merely inquired about it.

ATT has got a pretty good gift card deal going on right now.

Does anyone know what happens if you already have ATT service and try to sign up using the same account, what happens?

You likely have to sign up with new name, new email

But the same address may cause issues, no?

Might just end up switching over to someone else.

You need to disconnect service first, probably allow a few days in between, its a little risky

I have done with Comcast, same name, different email and phone

But I'd rather just go back and forth between Comcast and ATT if I have the option

you'll have to set a disconnect date. then use a new name/email to setup new service.

For whatever it is worth. I just called to cancel my 1Gbit ATT service and was immediately offered a 1 year extension of the $20 discount that I had from this deal. I decided to cancel, since the $30 deal for 400mbps from Spectrum is cheaper and fine for me. I also realized that the (free/included) HBO Max was not a s useful to me as I had hoped.

Hoping to get the $20 off deal again, might consider spectrum 400/20 and of course no hbo max.

You might as well wait until January 2022 so that you can watch certain theater released movies on HBO Max for free. That will end in 2022 and I bet many will cancel that service and/or cancel AT&T internet service.

I'm still in Austin and they're refusing to re-instate my 20 OFF saying "There's currently no promotion in your account. We can't do anything."

Let me know if you ever one a way.

I switch back to Comcast when ATT retentions wont offer me anything decent but issue is you have to sign contract with Comcast to get good deal and I may be moving soon
