These often go WAY cheaper. I've seen them at some third party sites for as low as $45!

A good price to buy is somewhere below $70.

Great little boat! It doesn't track well, nor is it big enough for two adults to be in all day, but they DO fit into Southwest's checked baggage guidelines. Just sayin, it's nice to show up in Tampa with your own boat!

This is a lukewarm deal at best. I just bought 2 of these these last week at Academy for $89.99 ea and only paid that much because we needed them asap. I have deal alerts set and am waiting for a good sale so I can try a price adjustment. Amazon price has been fluctuating, literally daily, between $88-129.

Apart from the price - we were pretty impressed with these. I wouldn't take them on long paddling trips but for our purposes (young kids, paddling a few hours at a time) they worked fantastic.

I've read all the comments on these deals to death and decided I'm going to wait patiently for the Pro to go on sale. It seems to be in a different league (hence price) in terms of quality and maneuverability.

Felt that tracking was difficult. For what it's worth, mine also got a big gash within five minutes of being on the water and I returned it.

Get the Pro for another $120+. I bought the explorer some years ago during the $45 sale. I still have it but have 2 mysterious gashes on the underside...had to buy a repair kit from a local outdoor store to patch it.

Then let a friend borrow it and he never returned it...I ended up buying the intel pro and the quality/material is night/day difference over the explorer (and so is the price). Me/wife took the pro to Lake Tahoe last summer and got caught out in the deep in some swells but the pro never felt one bit of tipping over. It took us almost an hour to row back to shore!!

If you planning to stay in shallows or calm rivers, the explorer should suffice but if u are more than recreation, I highly recommend spending the extra $1XX and get the Pro model.

Kayak prices have shot up, this one is going for $200 on eBay. The pro version is $317.29 now on amazon. Still tempting as the lockdown is likely to extend a few more months. I assume you paid ~$200 for your pro version?

Hah..yep. I think it was like $259 or something like that. Just used it last weekend at Rancho Seco lake to catch some fish (didnt catch much other than small bluegill). Only upgrade I did recently was replace the paddles with fibreglass ones from a local kayak shop.
