Actually I think you're wrong. The one that was 51.70 was the older version. This one is a newer version. The other one also said 13 inch this says 12 inch.
I bought it for $55. Slickdeals. That was March.
If you buy any clearance item from lowes, always inspect in next few days. There are good chances it's a return, and missing parts.

How is the older one? I have a ryobi 40v lawn mower and was gonna stay in the line but a string trimmer is at least 60, so figured I would get into this like for cheaper with another battery. My store had 1, so I bought it for pickup, going to wait a week or two then go pick it up and do a cancel rebuy. I've found that when you get the last of a clearance item, if you wait a week and when you get to the store tell them you want to buy with a different card and they cancel the online order and you rebuy the price drops slightly. Got the craftsman 3300 psi pressure washer with honda engine for 249 instead of 299 this way.

I also bought the old one for 51.xx, and coming from a corded trimmer with 1.25 acres it's a dream haha. No longer dragging 200 ft of line. It has great power on it's lower setting, battery lasts me about a half hour or more, enough to get through most of mine (I have more trimming than most, large fenced in area not bordering property). No complaints for the price I paid. The old version is a bump feed, this one is auto feed which is a great step up. Bump feeding is awkward when not on a flat area. I wouldn't bite at this price but to each their own. Still looking for one similar to my deal for the pops.
