I also see a $20 off coupon on the product page, making it $177 before tax.

I've been very tempted to get the Otto Wilde, but have been having a hard time with the price. The price for this is very tempting, but much less than anything else I've seen on the market. Can anyone comment on the quality?

Can't tell you the quality of this but they photo shopped those grill lines on that steak, doesn't match the grate.

I've had my own eye on The Beefer version of this thing for a while now. It's $700 versus the above at $179. The Beefer specs say it weighs 35 pounds while the Costway weighs 20 pounds. Like the goggles that the kid found in the back of the SUV in Jurassic Park, heavier probably means expensive-r/better-er.

What the exact differences are, I have no idea.

I really want to get one of these grills (as I participate in the carnivore diet), but I'm scared of both the high prices of the "name brand" versions as well as the price disparity between those and grills like this Cosway.

It's crazy how there's not one single YouTube video on it that I could find, usually not a good sign.

Here's a similar steak toaster with more reviews and video.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M7DVMTF

I just use a Bernzomatic with flame spreader. Much more versatile for different shape meat and I've used it to burn weeds and sweat pipes.

Not condoning this, in fact I feel it is false advertising, but more than half the images on amazon are photo edited to add X item to whatever type of advert the company is looking for.

Some of the best/worst are for pets, where the company will place say a cat photo plopped on a bed to make the bed seem much larger than it actually is.

Any consideration I had for this product is lost by that gimmicky marketing.

I'm someone that sous vides nearly every day sears meats (steak, chicken, pork, etc) multiple times a week. At this price it seems a little expensive for what it does. I'd be interested in the burner pattern and coverage on the protein.

For a pretty effective and inexpensive way to put out a lot of heat (1000 degrees F) for a sear with a propane tank, I'd recommend Harbor Freight's propane torch: https://www.harborfreight.com/pro...91037.html After their usual 20% off coupon you're looking at about $25.

As mem4720 said, torches are a lot more versatile for searing different shaped meats (sides of 2-3in steaks, or chicken breast for example).

Can't speak on the quality of the grill but Costway quality control is pretty hit or miss. You can look at their other products and some will be 4.2+ stars and others will be 3 or less. I had a coffee maker from them that broke within a week, got a different model as a replacement at the same cost and that broke within a month. They're just spotty that way

Not a slickdeal. It was $189 for a week or two last month. Was $199 without coupon for about 2 weeks before that.
