Over the last two decades, writer-director Guillermo del Toro has mapped out a territory in the popular imagination that is uniquely his own, astonishing audiences with Cronos, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, and a host of other films and creative endeavors. Now, for the first time, del Toro reveals the inspirations behind his signature artistic motifs, sharing the contents of his personal notebooks, collections, and other obsessions. The result is a startling, intimate glimpse into the life and mind of one of the world's most creative visionaries. Complete with running commentary, interview text, and annotations that contextualize the ample visual material, this deluxe compendium is every bit as inspired as del Toro is himself.
Contains a foreword by James Cameron, an afterword by Tom Cruise, and contributions from other luminaries, including Neil Gaiman and John Landis, among others.

I think these illustration heavy books should always be a physical copy. There is something different about looking at these images in print vs on the screen.
Because $3 vs $40-60 isn't a slick deal? I mean, I understand your point, but come on ...

This is the kind of book that would be a total waste of money in digital form.

While I agree that art books like these are best in actual oversized hardcover print (I have several Movie and Video Game art books), I would not normally purchase purchase this book as I am not interested enough at $40, but at $3 digital-sold.

I would agree that a printed illustrated book would be nicer. However, this digital version is $3 which isn't breaking the bank for most people and if they like this filmmaker then go for it!

It's great book, I already have the hard copy and I won't mind to spend $3 to get a digital version as well.

I didn't even know this book existed. I might have to wait out for a deal on the physical copy (relatively speaking, money-wise.....I am not expecting it to be $3), but this is a good deal if you prefer digital.

I see what you are saying. But 41$ is a little pricey to justify a physical copy.

Does anyone actually prefer digital when it comes to these coffee table books? That said, having bought a few physical copies of these types of books as well as picking up dirt cheap digital versions, I find myself flipping through the digital versions far more than the physical versions - I'm not always in my house, and coffee table books aren't exactly the type of things I throw in a purse on my way out.
