AirCanada is breaking the law by refusing refunds unlike the other carriers. Avoid them at all costs, they're swapping the refund with a voucher that's not worth as much as what you paid.

They're a scam seller now.

Spent 1 Year in South Korea, I love the country.

Go/Avoid - Coex Mall
Largest underground mall in South Korea, absolutely huge and amazing, but there are beautiful fashionable people everywhere that make the average person feel like an ugly slob.

Korean Sauna
Everywhere, cheap, and amazing. Different theme saunas, gyms, massage chairs, sleeping rooms, common area to watch tv and eat snacks. If I stayed out too late, I would often go to a nearby sauna place to sleep, which is nicer and cheaper than motel/hotels

Korean Barbecue
There are cheap places that serve great american beef but there are the good, a bit pricey barbecue joints that serve Korean beef, which you may cry if you've never tasted high end beef before (less fatty than Wagyu but bigger beefy flavor)

Korean Chicken and Beer
Korean spicy fried chicken is absolutely much better than American counterpart. There is chicken and beer places everywhere, most certain to be a great time.

Itaewon
Little U.S.A, American themed area, good place if you want something familiar

Noryangjin Fish Market
Huge wholesale seafood market, you can barter and get deals on some live seafood and then bring it to a nearby restaurant to have them cook it for you for cheap. Amazingly fresh and delicious. They can even do sashimi for you.

Meyong dong & Hongdae
Young people hangouts with lots of hipster shopping, great cheap food, fun things to do. It gets absolutely crazy during New Year where there are massive crowds of people and cuties giving out free hugs and whatnot. Great for people watching

Han River/ Hangang Park
Great for a relaxing afternoon to chill, people watch, beautiful scenery, order delivery to be brought to random places within the park (chicken is most popular)

I too got bit by a voucher, never will I fly with them again if I can avoid it. I haven't actually seen my voucher so I don't even know how much it is.

I urge anyone who also has this problem to file a complaint with the DOT [transportation.gov]. It is quick and if enough of us do it, Air Canada can have "action" taken against them by the DOT. Air Canada even had the guts to say that they don't need to refund us and it's lawful for them to stick us with a voucher even though the DOT says they are still obligated to refund us [transportation.gov]. Scam seller indeed.

I had Korea on my travel list this year. Not sure now when we will be able to travel again. So many travel bans and I just can't feel comfortable sitting in a plane for 12-14 hours with a plane full of people breathing recycled air. Maybe 2021 will be better. 2020 has been a nightmare.

To each their own, but it's about 50% off the usual price.

Thanks, I've never heard of this DOT but on the off chance that it helps everyone affected, I will file a complaint. Thankfully, I got a refund through my credit card after also being promised that I have a voucher under my account and to just call to book a flight and redeem it. To my understanding, because they don't have to follow USA rules and regulations, they actually did not cancel some legs of my flight so that they could comply with what I guess are Canadian rules and regulations and in doing so they were able to circumvent having to give out full refunds and just offer vouchers. Basically when all other airlines gave refunds, they took the low road and yeah I think a lot of people will not be flying with them in the future? Very short sighted business practices.

You will be spending 2 weeks in quarantine the moment you land at the ICN airport. You won't be able to go anywhere except for the testing centers and health centers. Don't even try to sneak out as they will track you down, levy a steep fine and kick you out of the country.
On the bright side, during your two weeks of confinement, you will be provided with meals three times a day by the government, because it's cheaper to give you $80 worth of foods everyday vs the economic, social and health fallout of spreading the virus around when letting people voluntarily isolate themselves leading to cause insurmountable damage. After this 2 week lockdown, you are free to go as you wish.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up. Residents of South Korea or not, lody dody everybody is spending 2 weeks locked in their designated areas, be in at home, hotel, motel or whatever it is.

US will be banned. I think Italy banned US citizens from visiting right now.

Its not free they charge you 14 million won approx $1100 USD for the two week stay not bad i guess for hotel + food for 14 days.
