No, it doesn't.

I have a work desktop with 6GB RAM, with Win 10 I can easily have 10-15 chrome tabs open over multiple desktops with Spotify and my work software running without any noticeable slowdown.
10-15 chrome tabs is too few. I usually keep several browser windows with 30 tabs in each.
BTW take ssd out and put hdd instead, you'll see right away if 6gb is enoughSmilie
It appears enough only cause there's ssd and much faster swap, which can kill modern qlc ssd fast
The point isn't really whether 8gb enough or not in general, its nonsense to have 6-8 core cpu with 8gb that we cannot even upgrade. If it were some 2 core slow cpu, that would be fine.

i received this unit saturday. i opened it and the ram is soldered. there is no open slot for additional ram. i didnt do any more research before buying and the additional ram is quite important for my uses. i called cs to confirm that there is no ram and they will be picking it up tomorrow.
What a joke. No extra memory slot.

Easy pass.

Exactly... 8 gigs is too little , what if I wanted to play aaa titles, clearly 8 gigs ain't enough cause you know, I seen super desktops that have more And play games good... why is the graphics integrated as well... who thinks of this shit...I know this laptop is marketed for general use where at most 4 gigs is used ... but we got the general masses of idiots who don't understand Or know what tHey need Or how to use it properly

You get the usual idiot who thinks they need 16-32 gb ram to surf the web and type on word and become keyboard warriors

You're wrong but that's ok. If your windows in using page files that soon then something is setup wrong. LTT has a great video with test with different workloads. Lastly the 3rd bullet point of the officedepot ad says upgradeable to 16gb...... so on this post, all this other nonsense is moot point

If at some point you wanted to upgrade the display to IPS it will currently run you around $60-$70 if you're willing to do the installation yourself.

so that we are buying new laptops in 2 years instead of sticking with what we got.
Thats what i thought. Specially since it's so much cheaper to buy ram and self upgrade versus buying new witj the additional ram. But zero benefit?

Not even a voids warranty or protection thing

Windows ALWAYS uses page file. Read first how pagefile works and what its used for, before writing nonsense. I don't really care how much it uses ram b/c I have 16gb on 2012 laptop, b/c it has 2 non-soldered slots for RAM. I bought it with 4GB RAM, 8 years ago and it still faster than most modern laptops, because everything besides CPU is replaceble in it.
I could optimize setup, but I simply don't want to waste my time optimizing setup, reinstalling windows every half a year etc.
My time simply cost more than whatever amount of RAM/SSD etc, and I will pay more for a laptop with 2 slots replaceble RAM and will put in it whatever it supports (even if its 64gb) and will forget about for next 5 years. You are welcome to save pennies on a crap laptop with soldered RAM and keep optimizing it till it diesSmilie
I prefer to use devices for doing actual work

Agree with others that 8gb is plenty.

Outside of video games and Photoshop, and python data analytics on huge data sets (professionally), 8gb has never been a limiting factor for me, and I've been building my own desktops for over 20 years. My current laptop I upgraded to 8gb and it's 4 years old and it's still fine: even with Photoshop, 8gb is unlikely to be a problem unless you're working with very high resolution TIFF or RAW files, multiples at a time.

I found the good review for this laptop. It seems like Lenovo is cheaping out on displays. Beautiful laptop performance but totally unacceptable because of that atrocious display. Why an OEM would pair such render capable hardware with such a bogus display. Asus apparently made the same mistake with the TUF 15 and are now being called out on it.

This one is similar price range (5% higher price) but 16gb ram. Well worth the extra $30 imo.
