Equate 60 oz hand sanitizer $5.97 available for next door delivery. You're only limited to one bottle but if you have a total of $35 in your cart as you check out, delivery is free.
Until they change the formula, I would not buy any more of this crap. The smell is disgusting. I've had to ask for refunds on 3 bottles due to the obnoxious smell and extremely bad packaging methods that led to contents pouring out all over the food items in the box.
Do yourself a favor and look at the past few deals on this product here on Slickdeals. Read the reviews before making a purchase.
I have to agree, it's nasty-smelling. But I've found that if you put some of it into a different bottle, like a pocket sized one, the smell does mellow out quite a bit.

For People complaining about the smell, Calvin Klein/Versace will soon come up with perfumed sanitizers, but you would have to wait while they work on formula 😂
Based on your comment, I take it you have purchased this in the "New" formula and have no issue with the smell? If so, I commend you. This stuff is nasty and the smell does not go away. On the other hand, if you have not purchased the new formula nor smelled it then your comment was pointless since all we were trying to do is warn others.
No one is looking for "great smelling" sanitizers but we do expect a product that is usable without adding a bunch of fragrance oils to it. I even tried that and all it did was make the nasty smell angrier.

They are using plant based ethyl alcohol as the synthetic based is not available. I am not sure if it will work with gel but let a few copper pennies 1982 or older soak in bottle for a few days.
For, those of you coming based on the UPDATE to this ORIGINAL POST, Walmart has changed the description for this item to state, "In order to make more hand sanitizer available to the Equate shopper and their families during the national emergency, you will notice a change in the fragrance of the Equate hand sanitizer. The temporary fragrance is a pleasant clean and fresh experience. The Equate hand sanitizer continues to be safe and effective. Stay safe!" There's been A LOT OF COMMENTS about the scent/odor/smell of this new fragrance. Additionally, there's been a LOT of leakage issues being reported by SDers who have received their shipments of the new formulation.
OKAY, I RECEIVED A BOTTLE OF THE NEW FORMULATION TODAY !!!
I'm very familiar with the old formation and I had some on hand for side by side comparison.
I was SUPER CONCERNED about all the leakage reports and MORE concerned about the horrific smell reports.
I hate the smell of the ArtNaturals hand sanitizer - it's the worst chemically, horrible smell, here's what I recently posted about ArtNaturals, "BUT, this is buyer beware for the ODOR. I like most of the gel type hand sanitizers: Purell, Germ-X, Equate, Sam's Club Member's Mark, Hello Bello as well as several of the off brands . . . the ONLY one that I really didn't like was ArtNaturals Scent Free, this stuff STINKS. When you put it on your hands and start rubbing, you can REALLY smell it and then a lingering, NOT-so-pleasant odor hangs for about 3 - 4 minutes (it may be scent free, but it's NOT Odor Free - and NO it's NOT the odor of the alcohol, they ALL have that - this is a foul smell). You can see many other posts and comments with this same complaint about the odor. Effective, but stinky. EEK!"
So, I thought that I'd chime in and tell you what my experience was and REPORT ABOUT THE "SMELL TEST" that I performed on the NEW EQUATE FORMULATION.
So, I opened the box. I could smell it the moment that I opened the box. I stuck my nose right into the box and it was indeed a different/odd odor. It was NOT repulsive to me as many have been reporting, just strong and odd.
Then I examined the bottle - there was NO white seal on the top of the bottle and IT HAD INDEED LEAKED OUT, not a great amount, just a bit (see picture).
UPDATE: My neighbor got a bottle delivered today IT TOO LEAKED, But Walmart must be aware of the issue . . . AFTER YOU FINISH READING THIS POST, go see post #269 on page 18 of this thread to see his leaky bottle and Walmart's attempted fix.
Then I removed the blue flip-top cap and took a big whiff. My nose was assaulted !!! To me it smelled like alcohol mixed with ??? (I don't know how to describe it), not good in any case.
Then I went ahead and applied some to my hands, still a super strong smell, but within less then 1 minute THE ODOR CHANGED DRAMATICALLY FOR THE BETTER.
So, I thought this really isn't too bad. To me it smelt like the fake lavender scent in cheap hand lotion (I'm not talking about Bath and Body Works lavender lotion, not near that nice). Then I thought within about another minute that it smelt like the pink liquid hand soap from elementary school. I thought that someone else posted and described it as "motel soap", but I couldn't find that for my quotes above, but I can see how they made that correlation.
So, I could get a wider review of the smell, there were 3 OTHER PEOPLE in the house, all in different rooms and I walked to each separately and said I need you to smell my hands and describe what you smell, here's their responses:
"It smells good, like a 'clean' smell"
"It's not bad, I thought you were trying to make me smell something that smelled bad"
"It smells like the hand soap at McDonald's"
THEN I TOOK THE BOTTLE AROUND TO THE SAME GROUP OF PEOPLE and ask about the odor directly from the container, here's those responses:
"It smells like alcohol mixed with cleaner"
"I smells like schnapps that has gone bad, I wouldn't drink that schnapps"
"It smells like McDonald's hand soap mixed with alcohol"
It's been a little less than an hour and if I put my hands right up to my nose they still smell like the pink hand soap from elementary school to me.
BOTTOM LINE:
1. My bottle leaked, but not too bad - they need the white seals on these bottles to keep them from leaking. BUT, I ordered 2 bottles of Germ-X 32oz size from the Office Depot slickdeal posted very recently and I have already received that order (I was worried about the horrific smell being reported from this new Equate formulation, so I ordered the Germ-X too). They too have no seal and on one of those two bottles the cap had come very loose during shipping and about 3/4 of the bottle had leaked out. Fortunately it was all in a gigantic and thick ziploc type bag and the mess was contained . . . BUT, the Germ-x was a WAY BIGGER MESS THAN this Equate for me anyhow. AFTER YOU FINISH READING THIS POST, go see post #269 on page 18 of this thread to see his leaky bottle and Walmart's attempted fix.
2. In the bottle and at the moment you first put it on your hands the New Equate formulation is an assault to the nose, very strong and not pleasant.
3. Upon putting it on your hands THAT in-the-bottle-odor DISSIPATES QUICKLY and then it's not too bad (see the descriptions above).
4. IMHO, Way Better odor, than ArtNaturals which is the WORST SMELLING hand sanitizer in my opinion BY FAR.
5. Certainly NOT the clean, almost immediately goes away odor of other/most name brand hand sanitizers (nor the 'lemony' alcohol scent of the old Equate formulation), BUT once on your hands for under 1 minute in my opinion certainly NOT the devil of all smells that many have reported here.
6. Oh, and one last thing, this new formulation is NOT as much gel consistency as the old formula, it is a bit more runny . . . NOT watery, but NOT as gel like either.
Now, I realize that we're all different . . . ESPECIALLY with preferences to scents and odors I'm NOT stating that anyone is right or wrong THIS IS AN OPINION FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL, SO THAT CANNOT BE WRONG, THAT IS WHY I GOT THE OPINION OF myself and 3 others and reported that here. Further, the smell while it's in the bottle is way worse than once it has been on your hands for under 1 minute.
UPDATE: (Please read the entire post above, before reading this update for this update to make sense) A little over 3 hours has past since I first put this on my hands. I have been out to the grocery store and the Post Office during that time. I have used Germ-X hand sanitizer TWICE (because that's what's already in my vehicle) and washed my hands once (yes, with soap and vigorously for 20+ seconds). The first time I put on the Germ-X it reignited the odor as described when I initially used the Equate for maybe 15 - 20 seconds. The second time I used Germ-X same basic thing, except much shorter duration, under 10 seconds. The last after washing my hands they still have the faint scent of that pink elementary school liquid soap as described above. Not good or bad, just an update for those who are curious.
Further, I JUST NOW ordered another bottle, this one for my MIL, she tried the NEW Equate formula and said, "For the price and the volume you get, it's okay to deal with the minute of 'yucky' odor."
LEAKING BOTTLES and REFUNDS
I wanted to repost my earlier review of the smell and give a leaking bottle upon delivery update.
First, 6 out of 7 bottles have been the NEW FORMULATION. You know, the one described like this, "In order to make more hand sanitizer available to the Equate shopper and their families during the national emergency, you will notice a change in the fragrance of the Equate hand sanitizer. The temporary fragrance is a pleasant clean and fresh experience. The Equate hand sanitizer continues to be safe and effective. Stay safe!"
Second, between my friends, family and myself, we've received 7 bottles, here's the arrival condition(s):
3 had the smallest amount of leakage, not enough to really be concerned about (2 of these the lids were taped down
2 had a couple of ounces of leakage (one had the lid taped down, one did not)
1 leaked about 60% of the bottle's contents, the cap was still on the bottle, but just barely (no sign of tape on the lid)
1 leaked until it was 95%+ empty, the cap was completely OFF THE BOTTLE in the box at the opposite end of the bottle and the box was saturated (see pic of this bottle/box below - no tape on lid)
I'll attached a few of the pictures that I have of the various bottles and their arrival condition.
Refund/Return requests were filed online for the 60% leakage and the 95%+ leakage bottles. It asked if refund or replacement was requested, both answered refund. During the online filing of both requests it stated that the product would have to be mailed back or returned to the store, BUT IN THE END AFTER THE ONLINE CLAIM WAS COMPLETED it simply stated that a refund would be issued with the need for any return.
