True, the 3900XT will be a direct replacement for the 3900X with a 200-300mhz boost, which will definitely drive the 3900X price down

Also, 3900X was $390 recently (last week?)

Waiting for a deal, but this does not seem to be it.

For anyone wondering, the refresh is supposed to be announced on 6/16, market available on 7/7. The 3900 XT will likely launch around $500 which would still makes this deal better IMO. The 3900X might fall a little more, but I do not think by much.

Can't go wrong with either chip... comes down to how urgent you need a system now.

Only two CPUs I knew were coming out in the next few weeks were the 3100 and 3300X.

Yeah, I'm hoping the price for the 3900x goes down to about $350-370 when the refresh comes out. Then it's pretty much a no brainer....
