the whiskey set would be the most traditional, but as a straight walled glass you'll lose a lot of nose. I'm a fan of these https://www.amazon.com/Libbey-Cra...80&sr=8-34 as an everyday glass. these https://www.amazon.com/Libbey-Sig...98e0b800f6 strike a good balance between a glass and a snifter. although the glencarin is kind of the standard, I've never been a fan of how narrow the opening is and always found it uncomfortable to drink from. if you're looking for something pretty these sets are fine, but if you want the glass to actually enhance your whiskey they won't do that

How can you tell this is from China and not elsewhere?

Some of the older models are 24% lead crystal and made in China. Others are lead free and still made in China. I'm not sure which these are, if they're selling off old inventory you're likely to get the older models. Check the box when you receive it.
