I hope that this is in preparation for a new peephole model that fixes the viewing problem whereby you cannot see downward. The way the optics are fixed you can only see outward and somewhat to the sides, but if any packages are left in front of the door or anywhere near the bottom of the door outward nearly 2 1/2 feet you can't see them.

It also will not record movement if your door is accessible from the side and a small child or if someone drops down and duck walks over to the door from the side. Is why I ended up returning it as Ring customer support said that there was no software fix to correct that blind spot, but due to many customer inquiries that they would address the issue when the new model came out.

Very easy to install, easy to pop out battery to charge, but the view is just too limited. BTW - no, you cannot tilt or angle the camera body as the mount uses the original peephole hole that goes through the door and loosening it to add spacers causes a gap along the hole as well as causing the camera to bang on the door if you close it to fast, it doesn't work right if try to install it upside down plus your range of view gets greatly screwed up.

Likely good "as is" for apartment with an interior hallway door, or if you don't receive packages or your home doorway is blocked on sides by porch or covered walkway/rear patio entrance, but otherwise not full coverage like other cameras they offer.
Ring has it on sale for Father's Day for $79.99. If you don't need the Echo Dot you can order from Ring and potentially stack the 20% discount code (teacher, med, student discount) bringing it down to $63.99
I have one of these because I didn't feel like messing up the trim around my door or drilling into my stone exterior. In brief: they suck. The motion detection settings are nothing like other ring products. There are no zones, just a slider. If I want to detect people approaching my door from the stairs I have to have it so sensitive that it picks up traffic from the street. Even on its "quickest" setting, it's slow to start recording. Walking at a normal speed I can approach my door from the front and have my key in the lock before the video starts. For a while, too, something about the camera or the app was busted where it kept turning off notifications for the app. Customer support was unable to help and just wanted to make sure I knew how to set it up. They eventually fixed the notification issue but it took months. As is it's just okay as a video doorbell but 100% should not be relied on for security.

I don't think so. It's 80 bucks everywhere, though without echo dot.

For everyone wondering if you can use this without a peephole, NO unless you can drill a hole in your door.

Amazon is price matching Ring.com. there is a current sale of $50 off ($79.99) until 7/6/2020.

I purchased this for $149 at Christmas time (at that time it was regular price $199). I guess sometime between then and now it price dropped to $129.99. This is the best deal so far.
