That is fraud. Best case is it's extremely unethical and will only cause HD to get even more strict and make it more difficult for regular people to return stuff. Please don't try this.
Essentially, yes. The last few times the battery starter kit has been the 3.0ah HP batteries vs these regular 4.0ah batteries. But, these 4.0ah are at least the higher end p197 batteries vs the older p108. Better internals/cells.
Yes, you can do this with just a circular saw and a drill. Few tips:
- Make sure you pre-drill your holes or else your wood will split when you put in your screws
- Cedar pickets are affordable and they're naturally good for outdoor applications

Is this the Ryobi deal everyone waits for every year with Home Depot? Looks like a great deal since I am looking for some tools but would like for someone more knowledgeable to chime in

It is a variant of it... Not as many free tools as previous offers, but it is the 4.0 Ah instead of the 3.0. Looks like the individual tools are again pro-rated should you cancel/return the batteries
Might be the same deal but I recall last year they were sold out of any of the tools that interested me. That's why I bit fast on this...
Also the multi tool was not listed as a free one but I went ahead and put it in the cart and it worked. So if you don't see the tool you want listed try anyway.

In for one with the p237 (impact driver). the batteries weren't in stock at my store so I had to ship them to my house for free. I can pick up the tool in store today. Been waiting for this

This is a good deal to pick up some one off tools you think you might need. Especially if you are in the ryobi system already. The charger is terrible. So this is more of a deal to get the odd tools you don't already have vs starting from scratch.

The multi-tool is among the free tools. You guys realize that the tool list is a scrolling window, right?
There are a few dozen to choose from..
