That is fraud. Best case is it's extremely unethical and will only cause HD to get even more strict and make it more difficult for regular people to return stuff. Please don't try this.
Essentially, yes. The last few times the battery starter kit has been the 3.0ah HP batteries vs these regular 4.0ah batteries. But, these 4.0ah are at least the higher end p197 batteries vs the older p108. Better internals/cells.
Yes, you can do this with just a circular saw and a drill. Few tips:
- Make sure you pre-drill your holes or else your wood will split when you put in your screws
- Cedar pickets are affordable and they're naturally good for outdoor applications
I realize that but this one acts like it can be used as a normal drill if you dont set it to hammer setting. Additionally some reviews even say it's decent for regular drilling, hammer function is actually not great
I guess the trade off is the extra weight of this one if simply buying for regular use...
It's impractical if you're using it as a regular drill because of its size and how you would need to get to certain areas. But yes, you can use it for drilling into wood and other applications if you are careful with it.
No, the mythical 2 tool + 2 battery combo for $99 is what tightwads like me are waiting for again. It was last November that it occurred and there were brushless tools as well unlike the deal listed here. Although the 4ah battery deal here is a nice touch, I much prefer option of a second tool and brushless varieties. See what was available: https://slickdeals.net/f/13513252-2-pack-ryobi-18-volt-one-lithium-hp-3-0-ah-batteries-2-bonus-tools...
thanks for pointing that out, i can wait out until black friday i guess.
Thanks OP! I had just ordered the Ryobi One+ Router on Saturday and got the in-store pickup notification yesterday. I was able to cancel that order and upgrade my batteries + get the router for $99!
I just tried to cancel part of the order like we used to do with this. They changed it so it cancels the whole order you can't just cancel one piece anymore.
This is a good deal to pick up some one off tools you think you might need. Especially if you are in the ryobi system already. The charger is terrible. So this is more of a deal to get the odd tools you don't already have vs starting from scratch.
I'm a complete novice to DIY and power tools, so I have a bit of a dumb question. Supposing I wanted to try and built a raised garden bed with wood plank sides, would that 6-1/2" circular saw be a sufficient tool for the job? I assume I'm just buying a bunch of 2"x4"s and cutting them to certain lengths to lay them out in a big rectangle and maybe screwing them together. (I already have a Ryobi drill from another deal last year.)

BUT, this time, the tools are lower ends. Last time 3Ah batteries but the tools are better.

The cheap chargers are actually handy for old batteries that the "intelligent" chargers reject.

ETA: Nevermind, didn't realize they made 6 and 9-ah batteries, too.
