I stalked brickseek and never paid more than $35 for a switch(scored a few as low as $8). If you are diligent in monitoring B&M clearance, you can outfit your whole house over time for a low price.
It's not the cheapest system to go with but it's been very reliable for me. Never had to reset or reconnect to my smartthings hub
What's your end goal. How many switches.
Everything about this is a pro.
Except cost and yes closed system (but, very reliable and works without WiFi as well)

I've started replacing a few switches with whatever is cheap at Amazon, but I've been running into a few switches with no neutral, and a few switches where I don't know what is going on with the wiring (I'm definitely no electrician, just bought my first house and starting to learn a few things), and would probably benefit from having a customer service who knows what they're taking about. My home has around 25-30 switches total, but there are some that I don't care if they are smart or not.
They have solution for non neutral on/off or a dimmer.
They have excellent guides on self installation.
You would need a volt meter/non contact voltage tester to identify the hot wire.
