There is a 2 pack + rechargeable headlight sold in store (total 3 pack) for about $30 I believe. The in store 3 pack has no coupon, though.

Yes. Everything is well made, aluminum. solid, and the magnetic base with the pivoting head is useful for all types of different purposes (ie - using on car, under hood, for ex). I love the rechargeable headlight as well - those are 1000 lumens max. Costco had them 2 for 18... was going to post that as well, but they sold out.

Says nothing about it being water/weather resistant. So I'm assuming it's not?

The 3rd light is excellent especially for walking the pups or bike riding

250 lumens on High and 50 lumens on Low would have made a lot more sense. Our eyes are sensitive to light on an exponential curve, the perceived difference between 250 and 500 lumens would be something on the order of 10% difference. The subjective difference between 50 lumens and 250 lumens is about half as bright.

Not to mention, the way that they measure run times is not at a constant output but when the light goes dead. While it may last for 1 hour on the High mode setting, you're only getting 500 lumens for the first minute... after 15 minutes, you're below 200.

So, why not set the High mode at 250 lumens and have it run for a much longer time at that brightness?

Probably because the marketing people thought they could sell more flashlights labeled as 500 lumens!
