I don't remember the whole story for the trilogy, but i remember the 2nd & 3rd are like in a different time line than the 1st movie.
2nd and 3rd are basically two parts of the same movie. They don't really make sense independently, but not bad put together. This trilogy is kinda like the Matrix trilogy for me. Love the first, 2nd and 3rd are still enjoyable but definitely not at the caliber of the original. If you like Tony Jaa, it is cool to see more of his breadth as a martial artist in the sequels.
