HP store started selling 15z-ee000 model with 400nits screen. You should check out.
Configured this model (although its an Envy) exactly the same as Costco and it's $869 for it with the 400 nits display. So an additional $270 for the brighter screen from the "sale" price at Costco. You can also get a total of 16 GB of RAM for another $90.

How picky is Costco regarding returns? Is there a max number of returns per year or something similar?
I just got today this HP Pavilion 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop - 10th Gen Intel Core i7 - GeForce MX250 and paid $899

I'm not aware of any limitations on frequency of returns. Costco has probably one of the most, if not the most lenient return policies of the majors retailers. I wouldn't be to concerned.

Exactly what I was looking at. Simply based on value, it's tough to beat this deal.

Personally I think the Slim 7 would be a better deal at $849, but it looks like it'll be 2024 by the time it releases lol

There is another HP 17.3 inch touchscreen with ryzen 5 processor. 12gb ram and 1tb hard drive. It was in the costco july book. Its priced $549 after $50 off. Item Number 1373220. Although I couldn't find it on their website. The book says its an online only item. Do you guys know what model this is ?

Would you guys do this HP or the Staples Lenovo deal at $529? The colors on the Lenovo screen seem meh.

Any reason then not to get the BB model for $699 (given its 13.3 inches) and is the new 10nm i7 which is definitely good? I don't care much for 2-in-1 though both are touch screen (which is not a big deal for me either). Wondering what am I missing here? Though the ability to upgrade to 16GB is really nice

Thanks, I bought the one from Staples. The screen colors are a bit meh, so I was wondering what people thought in comparison.

You can use intel graphics command center to adjust the color settings.
I changed the Hue to +15 and Saturation to +30, and the colors look much better.

After watching this video it appears they have to pry the back cover off. You know why?
I just upgraded my ram. Prying the back cover off with a pick or tool is not necessary. I was able to gently pull the bottom cover off, starting near the hinges. The bottom has 6 Phillips screws and one Torx (I used size 5) screw. I did not remove the hard drive or battery. I did use a hair dryer to soften the sticky tape holding the rubber feet. The whole process took less than 10 minutes.

Can you charge this laptop via a small 65W PD USB-C wall charger? I'm looking to buy something like this:
