I've been hearing some light screeching noises from the fans starting from a few days and it's increasing every day. Everything else is perfect with this laptop I got. I've had this laptop for 10 days now.
Is this a defective piece? Anyone else observe this too?
Should I return and purchase another one or should I call Costco and get this fixed? Which is a safer bet?

I got Dell Inspiron 14 7405 with similar configuration but 14" screen for $655 after tax. This HP model will cost me around same after tax. Is there benefit getting this over Dell 7405 apart from 15.6" screen and costco extended warranty?
There are two 4K output on this HP, I think the dell only has 1 out thr usb C with only HDMI 1.4... unless someone else can find some other info or personal experience to say otherwise.

Man the only thing i dont like is that 250nits brightness. The weight is a little more on the heavier side at 4.5. Im assuming you can only upgrade one ram slot?
Sorry what you mean by 4.5? Are you referring to this laptop weight? I assuming you taking about upgrading the ram of the laptop as well, then yes.

I went into Costco yesterday and looked at this specific model [it was $799 till yesterday]. Despite being all metal build, it still looked ugly and cheap. The speaker grill literally added to the cheap overall feeling.
I am still contemplating to buy it as my Mate D [R2500U] cant keep up with 8GB of damned soldered RAM any more. I am assuming RAM here is upgradeable
Really wished a Lenovo with 16GB and proper screen [400+ nits] could popup for sub-$1000 price ... but i think it won't be happening anytime soon Frown

That dell 7000 2 in 1 has only 2 hours of practical batter life. Read the reviews, most people say so. If it's two hours at start, after 3 years, you won't even be able to turn it on without power, LOL!

Yep. At $600 I DEMAND 128gb of ram, dual processors and 3x1TB SAS SSDs in Raid 5.
Otherwise I may start a Gamer class-action lawsuit for Gamer discrimanation.
Hell yah! Preach worship

For Wifi issues. I am using it upstairs with door close. Sometimes my wifi don't reach on an Ipad.

I ping google for almost a day and got 79980 Received and 28 Lost packets.
