I believe that none of the 16 inches should have the "bad" keyboard. The 16 inch design is new (they were 15 before) and one of the major advances was fixing the keyboard.
This seems like a pretty good deal from what I can see. I'm almost tempted to replace my Mid 2012 15 inch. But mine is fine and it's really nice to have HDMI, SD card reader, and normal USB ports...
