Any deal on the ID system itself? Has that already died since the holidays? Seemed like a great idea, but the price was just insane.

the lowest price on these before was $3.99 at Marshall's. they flood ebay at around $5 but if you actually want them, this is as low as they'll be

The prices for these not so popular ID cars have stayed steady at this price for the past three weeks or so now, so no rush on any of these "deals". The more popular ID cars all stay the same around $5-6 each.

The ID system is a lot of fun, just got my son one for his birthday. Cars stay on the track once you get the boost speeds down and the ID app has lots of challenges and modes so it doesn't get too repetitious.

Target had buy 2 get 1 free 3 months ago, originally 6.99, so it was a little under that (14÷3 = $4.66 each), but yea Amazon does have the better ones in that range

So, are these any good with just the portal? Or do you need the full $150+ track set?

So they found a way to sell 50 cent cars for $3.

Maybe not every offering, but a lot of them are much more detailed, and licensed franchises.

Batman, BTTF Time Vehicle, newer Mustang, etc..

Connects to an app with a chip / scanner on the underside. I haven't gotten one yet, but it seems like there's more involved than the standard die cast card versions (which have been closer to $1 any time recently).

I don't have the track or portal. As long as your phone or tablet has NFC,you just down load the ID app,and then scan the cars into the game.Thats what I do.Kinda cool racing the cars in the app..I'm to cheap to buy the track or portal..lol..hope that helped..

Can anyone explain how the ID system works? My son got a Batman ID car, but I'm at a loss for what to do with it. Is it just downloading an app?

As long as your phone or tablet has NFC,you just download the ID app, then scan the car into game, via phone or tablet with NFC..if your phone or tablet doesn't have NFC you'll have to buy the ID portal or ID track to scan cars into the app..hope this helped..
