Just read a news release when I was trying to find some product info:

June 16th, 2020

Guangzhou Powecom Labor Insurance Supplies Co., Ltd appoints www.bonafidemasks.com , a division of Ball Chain Mfg. Co., Inc. as the new premier distributor for our FDA Authorized KN95 mask products in the USA.

FDA Appendix A: Authorized Imported, Non-NIOSH Approved Respirators Manufactured in China (Updated: June 17, 2020) [fda.gov]

The unit price isn't cheap: $2.4 each and shipping fee is kind of high: around $14 per order via UPS ground, although you can order more to cut down both unit price and shipping cost per unit.

However, this may be the first time we know we can get a quality KN95 on FDA authorization list from a trustful vendor which is endorsed by manufacturer.

I'm starting to have concerns about the quality of these. Out of the 10 pack I ordered I've now seen the stitching coming apart at the top on about 3 of them and I can see the layers. Might not continue with these. I've used them for under 30 mins. The seal is pretty good but I always try and make it fit better using the nose clip. Perhaps this pressure of adjusting the clip and overall tight fit is breaking the stitching up but it shouldn't be this way.

Curious if anyone else has seen this?
Can you share some pictures? We didn't experience that.My wife hates 3M masks (so tough to put on and difficult to breath) so she wears Powecom more often. Didn't hear any complaints from her yet.

Just curious, did you get those Powecom masks from here bona fide masks? or somewhere else?
I got them from NEHydro which has stores in MA and is apparently a legit supplier but not official. Like the other guy said the CDC tested batches of these but we don't know enough about the quality control or continued manufacturing process. The CDC tested these to filter over 98% but MA Dept of Health tested them to have around 90% filtration. Still quite good.

Sure I'll take a pic later today.

Btw, does anyone know a legit place to get the Harley ones on the FDA list?

I've been considering KF94 from Korea since Korea is now allowing each factory to export between 10%-20% but have to find a reputable Korean distribution company. If anyone knows any for KF94 or Harley please share. Thanks.

You shouldn't wash these like you would a cloth mask.
Yes, washing will reduce effectiveness but won't eliminate effectiveness. A washed kn95 is still better than those surgical masks though I would not use a washed one in a medical setting it at a Trump really 😎

also bought some Harley from colorsheild health however they were very small. I gave some to my mom without commenting and even she said they were too small

I'm talking about Powecom. They may meet CDC regs, but their quality control seems suspect compared to 3M.

"General" KN95s available at your local store or online are most likely garbage.
Please tell me where you can get some 3m for under $4 a piece

You can't.

But I'm not jumping on this deal until people report on the quality.

Fit is an issue, as ear loops are never as airtight as straps.

That may or may not be true. I think I saw a study of washing N95 mask.
When it was new N95 can filter/capture 98% of particles. But after disinfecting with alcohol and drying, the filter/capture drop to 60%. And as we know, KN95 is worse than N95 (especially from little known manufacturer with unpredictable quality) since it allow 10% of leakage, so after wash, not sure how much effectiveness it will leave.

In short, washing the mask was much worse than natural "aging" like just let it air out.

QC is known issue for China manufacturers for domestic brands. Foreign brands like 3M and Honeywell have much stricter and better QC even their products are also made in China. But if we can easily get 3M/Honeywell KN95s, we wouldn't need to spend much time to discuss Powecom.

About Harley, I got some from color shield, but 3 out of 10 had welding issue. Their earloops were just loosely touched on masks.

I haven't done any researches on KF94 and not sure if all KF94 are with equally good or acceptable qualites.

does that fray occur only on edge and above pressed stitch? or the 2 or 3 stitch lines themselves got loose?

Above the stitches themselves along the edge at the top. I guess if the stitches are in tact it's not too bad.

One of the earloops on the Powecom ones I had also broke off but the others seem solid. QC is so so I suppose.

Does your mask look like it has four layers? My masks also look similar to your masks. But I look at the exposed edge I can only see three layer.
